Manufacture Prelle

Prelle et Cie specializes in luxury silk production, and is one of the oldest silk manufacturers in Lyon today. Since 1752, Prelle manufacture has worked on heritage restorations and with private clients, and one specialties is re-creating archival textiles for historic mansions and palaces. Thanks to traditional wooden looms still in use today, the manufacture is able to faithfully replicate these documents, using the original techniques of the time. Prelle has an impressive archival fund, including treasures from the art deco era, and often taps this resource to satisfy the needs their clients or uses them for their new annual collection.

While firmly rooted in the past, the company has grown with the times. New technology investments include include high-speed looms, and forward-thinking marketing initiatives encompassing creative collabs such as the one with Adidas.

The historic workshop has been at its current location in the 20th district of Paris since 1901 . Passementerie Verrier Paris’s latest chapter began in 2018, when Dorget partnered with Anne Anquetin, who is a co-owner and managing director of the firm. Their ambition is to leverage etheir unique and rare know-how to deliver bespoke trims and any type of textile ornaments for projects ranging from classic to contemporary.

Details, details, details!

Look at these hand-applied details! Passementerie Verrier Paris’s trimmings are still crafted by hand, from the hand-turned wooden core to the twisted fringe. This design reminds me of my client Jiun Ho’s incredible Soiree in Paris at Versailles in January 2020. My last big party before COVID.
